Recently, I found myself playing GalCiv 2 for the first time and I got bored of it very quickly. I loved games like MOO 1/2, Star Trek: BotF, Most of the Civ games (I was disappointed in the vanilla Civ V but the expansions made it much better,) Sins of a Solar Empire and Warlock: Master of the Arcane (I haven't played 2 yet.) I've played many more 4x games but those rank among the favorites I can remember atm. I'm no expert at 4x games but i've been playing them for a very long time now when the mood for some deeper strategy hits me.
I know what many of you are probably thinking, "another one of these?" Well, I just haven't found an answer yet among the other threads I found while searching to finally convince me one way or the other so I thought i'd ask myself with more direct points.
